Today, we would like to introduce the Zero purge desiccant air dryers produced by our company.
The refrigeration air dryer is used for the purpose of removing the moisture present in the compression air by instantly cooling the high temperature compression air using a refrigerant.
In order to prevent the freezing of condensate or freezing of the heat exchanger during cooling, the dew point of the refrigeration Air Dryer usually maintain over 0 ° C. Therefore, desiccant air dryer must be used in the process that is sensitive to moisture.
The adsorption air dryer usually provides dew point of -40 ℃ or lower, and is used in various industries such as food and beverage industry, pharmaceutical industry, petrochemical industry, electronics and semiconductor industries, and medical industry.
In these industries, it is essential to use a reliable adsorption air dryer because it can cause shutdown of production and the defect of the final products even with small amounts of moisture.
GSA adsorption air dryers can also produce Super Dry compressed air of -100 ℃ or lower according to user requirements, and are designed to increase the user’s satisfaction through various adsorption air dryer system design.
In general, adsorption dryers are classified as heatless regeneration, heater external, blower regeneration, and Zero purge adsorption dryer.
Heatless regeneration type is a general -purpose product with a short process cycle of about 10 minutes, and the structure is simple and purges about 14% compressed air.
The external heated type is an air dryer with a process cycle of more than 8 hours and is equipped with a heater for heating the compressed air and usually purges compressed air at around 8%.
Blower regeneration type is an air dryer with a process cycle of more than 8 hours. It regenerates adsorbents by the blower and heater, and usually purges compressed air at around 3%.
Zero purge type is an air dryer with a process cycle of more than 8 hours. It is a method of taking in air in the atmosphere using a blower to heat the air sucked into the heater and regenerate the adsorbent using the heated air. This type of adsorption dryer does not purge compressed air at all.
Next, I will explain the operating principle of the zero purge type adsorption air dryer.
Compressed air containing a large amount of moisture enters the drying tower, and in the process of moving from the bottom to the top of the tower, the moisture is absorbed by the filled adsorbent and dry compressed air is produced.
While the drying tower performs the drying process, the other tower performs the regeneration process to desorb and remove the adsorbed moisture.
The regeneration process is divided into a heating process and a cooling process, and the heating process heats the atmospheric air sucked in by the blower to the set temperature with an electrical heater.
The heated regeneration air heats the adsorbent in the regeneration tower to desorb moisture and then discharges it to the outside through the silencer at the bottom of the regeneration tower.
After the heating process is completed, a cooling process is performed to cool the heated adsorbent in the regeneration tower.
The cooling process is divided into a ZEHB type that cools the adsorbent using external atmospheric air sucked in by a blower, and a ZEHC type that cools the adsorbent in the regeneration tower using cooling water while circulating regeneration air with a blower.
When the cooling process is completed, the regeneration tower’s adsorbent regeneration process ends and a pressure equalization process is performed to equalize the pressure of the two towers.
When a pressure equalization process is completed, the two towers are switched, the tower that performed the drying process proceeds with the regeneration process, and the tower after the regeneration process carries out the drying process.
This series of processes is automatically and repeatedly performed, and dry compressed air is continuously produced.
The zero-purge adsorption dryer has a low load factor of the air compressor because there is no compressed air purge consumed when regenerating the adsorbent.
In addition, it is an energy-saving dryer that minimizes power consumption by adding various functions to control the heating process according to the regeneration temperature of the adsorption tower.
Today, we learned about the zero-purge adsorption type air dryer.
