Hello, Some GSA employees use the weekends from
6/4 (Sat) to 6/5 (Sun) to visit the Arrowroot
Falls Camping Site & Pension located at 27 Eulsu-gil,
Naeyeon, Hongcheon, Gangwon-do
(phone number: 010-5166-0304, check-in: 2pm Time,
check-out: 11 am, after 10 pm (Manner Time).
Arrowroot Falls was a campground where you can heal yourself
just by sitting with a small waterfall, clear valley water,
comfortable gravel fields and proper shade of trees.
The current is not fast and the water is not deep, so it would be a
perfect place with children who like to play in the water.
The campground has a variety of decks, bungalows,
and hanok rooms, and as it is new construction,
everything was clean, including toilets, showers,
shops, decks, and sinks. Separation of food waste and
recycling waste seemed to be well managed systematically.
The shower room was clean and the water pressure was strong.
Hot water pours out in just a few seconds after turning it on,
so I think showerers need to be careful.
Especially if you are traveling with children.
As soon as we arrived, we set up our own tent next
to the flowing stream and unpacked our belongings in the tent.
The gravel at the bottom of the valley water could be seen
because it had not rained a lot recently,
but the depth of the water was quite full for swimming or fishing.
Divided into 4 groups, each group has
prepared a variety of foods such as
eel, beef, pancake, watermelon,
melon, giblets, cuttlefish jjambbong, etc.
Of course, since it was a camping event
hosted by the company, the company paid the
expenses necessary for preparing food for each group.
After a long time, we cooked and shared
meals with my co-workers outdoors, and all the
stress I had accumulated from work was
poured into the cool flowing water of the valley.
vegetable pancakes, which were prepared
in advance at home by Deputy Chief
Jeon Young-pyo, were crispy and delicious.
They said that they kneaded only with pan-fried
flour without mixing flour, but I thought, “From now on, I will
have to make Bu-chim-gae at home using only pan-fried flour.”
It was even more delicious to eat fresh lettuce grown
in the company’s garden with meat and canned soju.
It was a bit disappointing that the makgeolli was not prepared.
Pancakes taste best when eaten with makgeolli.
Please note that makgeolli is not sold at the campground canteen.
Some of the staff, who have a knack for fishing,
brought their fishing rods and speared them
in the flowing stream water to catch nearly 10 fish.
According to Deputy Chief Jeon Young-pyo,
a fishing expert within the company, some
fish have their own houses, and they hide in
the house and hunt small fish passing by.
And he explained that the fish mainly
live in places where rocks in the water
are slightly lifted up, and it seemed quite
convincing even to those who had
no knowledge of fishing like me.
one fishing rod to catch 10 or so fish.
If you look down from the observation
deck of the arrowroot waterfall, there is
a puddle that looks quite deep.
Yeolmok is a natural treasure fish that lives
only in clean water of first-class water,
and fishing is prohibited.
If you catch a trout, you will be punished by
imprisonment for up to one year or
a fine of not more than 5 million won.
Some staff brought children with them.
The company handed out small gifts of play
equipment prepared by the company
to the children and explained how to use them.
with ramen and Hetbahn that everyone had prepared,
we gathered at the arrowhead waterfall
observatory deck to evaluate camping.
Gift certificates were handed out and encouraged.
After the short 2 days 1 night camp in 2022,
we took a group photo together.
All that remains is the photo.
This is how I made wonderful memories with my co-workers.
It’s a rather early start on a Sunday morning,
so I’m leaving for the house hoping that there
won’t be as many traffic jams as I did when
heading to the campsite on Saturday.
This summer, how about enjoying summer camping
and water fun at the arrowroot waterfall in Hongcheon, Gangwon-do?
